Family
We have been raising goats since 1999. We started with American Alpines for their milk production. We needed the milk for our youngest daughter, Hannah, who could not drink cows milk or formula and for Joyce who has diverticulitis.
We were, and still are, obsessed with quality. We started our Dairy herd with the 1997 North American Grand Champion Doe Alice. She was quite an investment as far as Dairy Goats go, but we soon found out that investing in the best does pay off. We got more milk from that one goat than from two or three average goats. At our first dairy goat show in 1999 we met the Boer Goat. The low maintenace and muscular build really appealed to us. Like many others since then we went Boer crazy.
We held one of the first ABGA sanctioned shows in Kentucky. It was a very educational show having Anton Ward as our Judge. We also hosted a level two judges training class that same year. We learned alot having South African Judges Lucas Burder and Louis Van Rensburg educate us on the Breed Standards.
Joyce was instumental in spreading the news about the Boer Goat and created the first Boer Goat Calendar 2001-2002.
She had a display at the Kentucky State Fair that was so successful it helped convince the Fair Board that it was time for a KSF Boer Goat show. She was also the first President of the Central Kentucky Meat Goat Association.

No one in the family seemed immume to Joyce's enthusiasm. Her mother, accomplished artist Merinda Taylor, became involved by painting "Boers Abound".
We have learned a great deal and come a long way. Our Breeding plans are falling into place and improving every generation. We recently produced the Overall Grand Champion Buck at the Georgia Nationals in 2003. We have high expectations for the future with our next kid crop coming from the Overall Reserve Champion Buck at the same show.
BODACIOUS OOMBADOOM
We got our start from the late Stan Benz herd with the purchase of two Sasquatch daughters. We looked long and hard for our first buck and found what we were looking for again at Stan's. This buck impressed us most in 2000 at Millington TN, winning Reserve Grand Champion and beating the great Eggsfile under South African judge Stephan Milan.

Life's demands forced us to disperse in 2005.
We had a great sale and we look forward to getting back to raising some outstanding goats, as time will allow.

The Future
Our Breeding philosophy is, that it takes more than a blue ribbon to satisfy us. We place alot of emphasize on mothering ability, feed efficiency, parasite resistance, and fertility. But we do love getting those blue ribbons!!

We hope you enjoy our site. Please visit often!
